Very often the words “healthy” and “nutrition” are seen side by side, but have we really understood their true meaning?
In this article I will explain in a more defined way the proper definition of “Healthy Nutrition” and then I will relate it to normal daily habits in such a way as to create thoughts and possibilities of improvement for each person who wants to follow my advice!
First of all, let’s start from the meaning of these two words, in order to understand more closely the context in which they adapt: for balanced diet we mean a correct way of eating both from a quantitative and qualitative point of view; balanced nutrition has the purpose of guaranteeing an adequate supply of energy and nutrients, preventing both deficiencies and excesses in nutrition (both harmful).
Having therefore understood the meaning, we will now move on to a more practical application of this topic.
In general, the diet in adolescence must be personalized according to gender, age, weight, physical activity and growth rate, the latter factor which presents a wide variability both according to the predisposition of the individuals and according to the period that the subject is going through.
Developmental age is a particularly delicate condition, in which there is an easy risk of making a mistake due to lack or excess of nutrients.

Some general tips that I can give for a healthy and adequate diet in adolescence are those of the Mediterranean diet, in particular: limiting animal fats, limit salt and fried foods, limit red meat and cured meats, limit sugar, fat ice cream, snacks, sugary drinks and sweets, increase the consumption of various types of fish, use preferably whole grains, dried and also fresh legumes together with cereals as a single dish, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables of various types and colors, avoid beer and alcohol, eat at regular times.

At first glance, it may seem that all these tips are not easy to follow, but in reality it is enough to stop for a moment to analyze your eating habits, understand what you should change and find the best way to reconcile your habits and tastes with the advices mentioned above; it will not take long, however, to see the first results, as for example one of the first factors you will notice is the decrease in tiredness throughout the day, as you are eating foods that have a reasonable calorie intake, and also your body absorbs micro and macro foods essential for the proper functioning of the body!
If despite this article you are still not sure that you can manage this aspect by yourself, just reach out to me and I will be very happy to give you further advices or organize your healthy nutrition for you based on your characteristics; then, what are you waiting for?
